This FREE service is only provided to Georgia drivers ticketed with laser or radar. Since its original introduction, the ProLaser brand of laser speed detection devices has been the laser gun of choice for the Georgia State Patrol Troopers and most other Georgia law enforcement communities. Now YOU can know what the cops operating these laser guns are supposed to know. As they say, knowledge is power. You may ask, how does one go about using such knowledge? Unlike RADAR, which Georgia law pertinently requires daily accuracy testing (recorded and maintained) at both the beginning and ending of an officer’s duty tour, such testing is NOT currently required by Georgia law for laser. This issue seriously needs to addressed by the Georgia legislature. However, if you have read what we wrote on our home page about lazy prosecutors counting on your ignorance, you will discover why this information “may” in some cases be devastating to the states case. Most prosecutors, out of routine habit, and because they don’t even know better, will ask an officer during his direct examination about his daily before and after testing of his laser gun, even though Georgia law does not require such evidentiary foundation. You need to be listening for this. Once the prosecutor asks the laser calibration questions, and the cop answers them, they have OPENED THE DOOR WIDE OPEN for you to cross-examine the officer about these daily testing procedures, of which he will have little or no knowledge. Since Georgia law does not require this daily testing of accuracy for a laser gun, you would not normally be allowed to question the officer about such testing. But once the prosecutor opens “Pandora’s Box”, the genie is out of the bottle so to speak. You now have the necessary knowledge to make a total fool out of the officer on the witness stand. After you start asking specific questions as to the proper methods for daily testing of the laser gun accuracy, directly from the ProLaser III manual, questions the officer will not be able to answer, you have made the officer look like the liar he is. Why will the officer not know these questions? Because they do not teach it in detail at the officers POST laser speed detection device training, because it is not legally required of the officer to do this daily testing. Since it is not required, it is not taught in the detail you will learn from this manual and from our CD system. Laser guns are so simple to operate, the average person could learn to use one in about 5 minutes. The odds that the officer will have ever even seen the operators’ manual, much less read it are small indeed. The odds are even smaller, that he knows what inside. Many Georgia law enforcement officers, previously or currently certified on just RADAR, are out operating laser with no POST training for laser. We have proof of this, (Click Here). Proof backed up by laser tickets issued by officers, (in this case officer Phillip L. Cadwell) who we later obtained through Georgia’s open records act, their POST speed detection device certifications, and there was no additional training for laser listed. In over half the laser trials I have personally observed, the prosecutor asks the officer about his daily testing of his laser gun, and the officer answers to the affirmative.
